I think that if you advertise globally you might have some issues, but if you are using localised keyhrases and advertising in one certain country I believe that the local controls will overide the new infrastructure changes.

Pointers = Keep your pages current | Good unique content | Get rid of those ‘heavy’ flash intro’s | Make use of Google services (local, merchant etc).
